Call for Applications: Student Relations Coordinator

Rising Voices is currently seeking a new Student Relations Coordinator to join its student-led team, beginning work in summer 2024. Applicants should be students currently registered in a graduate degree program and conducting music research in ethnomusicology or a related field. We are particularly interested in early-year Master’s or Doctoral students with strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

The Student Relations Coordinator is responsible for facilitating community-building and professional development opportunities for prospective and current graduate students and early-career independent scholars. The Student Relations Coordinator promotes the Rising Voices publication and highlights early-career researchers’ work on social media platforms and at SEM-related events. Prior leadership, social media, and event-planning experience is strongly recommended but not required.

To apply, please send a CV along with a brief statement of your experience and interest (350 words or less) to risingvoicesjournal@gmail.com by May 15, 2024. Screened applicants will be scheduled for a 30-minute interview, where they will discuss past experience with related projects (if any) and goals for engaging the community of rising music researchers.

Feel free to request further information by contacting the current Student Relations Officer (Lydia Wagenknecht) at risingvoicesjournal@gmail.com, and please share this posting with anyone who might be interested in the position.
